February 2012 topbox

I love getting things in the mail besides the bill.
There was a rumour that this month's box theme was make-up because last month was all about hair.
This will be my fourth box, you can read my previous topbox here - November, December, and January.
It is currently still sold out but I heard that it might go back on sale this month for the month of June.

This month's box:

Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara
Full size: $36, sample size $9 (I assume 1/4 of the size)
Oh my, I can't wait to try this.  Never tried this brand before.  Good size sample - like from free gift with purchase sample.


Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (concealer)
Full size: $50, sample size $0 (something you might get from a magazine)
Too bad we only get a tiny magazine size sample.  Enough for maybe one time use.  Not very pleased with this sample.

LillyPilly - Kakadu Plum Hand & Body Creme
Full size: 150ml @ $22, sample size $1 (estimated guess)
Received two little sample packages.  Too bad it is so small, might get two uses out of it.  Maybe it is because we received a deluxe size last month and this is only a smell tester of a different scent for us to try.  Kinda not worth bothering putting in this month's box.

Pari Beauty - Eyeshadow #54
Full size: 2g @ $11, sample size = full size (yeah!)
It is a very pretty eye shadow I can actually use.  It is purple with a little hint of gold in it.

C. Booth Derma Skincare - Hand & Nail cream

Full size: 120g @ $16, sample size = full size (yeah!)
When I put it on it smells like Jergen's or Curel's hand cream.  Made my hands all nice and smooth.  I love hand creams.

The total worth of this box is $28+

I am very happy to receive my two full size sample and a deluxe size but then mini samples are kinda disappointing. *Meh*

January 2012 Topbox

Hope everyone is having a great day.
My mailman (yes he is a man) just popped by and left me my box :)

This is what I have received this month:
Principessa Beauty: Notte Breeze Dry Shampoo
Full size is 125g @ $24, sample size is 30g @ $5.76
Dry Shampoo is all the rave this past season.  I can't wait to try this on those off days when I don't have time to wash my hair.  It smells great, almost better than baby powder.  This product is for darker hair colour which is perfect for me.

Shu Uemura: Full Shimmer Illuminating Shampoo
Full size is 300 ml @ $45, sample size is 75ml @ $11.25
This shampoo is for colour treated hair.  I have some left over from last year so I don't need to worry about getting this special type of shampoo.  I will try this and I think I could get two or three washes from this tube.  This smells great!

Lise Watier: Eye Shine Eyeliner
Full size is .04oz @ $17 and the sample size = full size
Yes!  I love full sizes.  I love the colour.  It is great that they have chosen brown for me.  It goes on smooth like butter unlike your regular eyeliner.

Lillypilly: Tree Tea Hand and Body Creme
Full size is 150 ml @ $22, sample size is 50ml @ $7.33
I have never heard of this company.  It is nice to try out new products from companies you have never heard of.  There is a faint smell of tree tea which is fine.  It goes on very light and leaves my skin all nice and smooth.  It is a great size for my purse.

The total worth of this box is $41+

December Topbox Review

Who is Topbox?
They are another company who provides "top" brand beauty samples delivered to your door.

Last month was my first Topbox experience you can click here to read all about it.

My box was being held hostage at the post office again - for approx 24 hours.  I guess with the extra Christmas deliveries there must be a back log.

Here it is!  My December Box.  My early Christmas present.

In this box I received TWO full size samples:

Cargo Cosmetics: Lip Gloss - Full Size 4.75 g @ $25 (At Sears.ca it is $24 and ebeauty.ca it is $22)
The timestrip technology is a neat idea.

Bella Pella: Glycerine Soap - Full Size 125 g @ $7.95
This smells wonderful.  I was already looking at their website to see what else they sell.  Too bad they dont have a location in Toronto.

Cover FX: Primer - Full Size 30 mL @ $45, Sample Size 7mL @ $10.50
It comes out clear and it made my skin pretty smooth.
Also, if I purchase it at Shoppers Drug Mart I receive additional points.  I like that.

SkinCeuticals: B5 gel - Full Size 30 mL @ $78, Sample Size 5 mL @ $13 (guessing)
I love this gel.  Winter months can be harsh to my skin.  I find my skin dehydrated.  When I put this on, it really hydrates my skin.  I am glad to try this product.

The estimate worth of the box is approximately $56. It is a good monthly investment.

Topbox receives brownie points:

• Delivering the box early before Christmas (& other companies *wink*wink*)
• Giving us a "hint" - a snap shot of the package before it is shipped off  (love guessing)
• Providing two full size samples (YEAH!!!)

At first I was not sure if I should sign up with Topbox because there were not much information about them.  So I took a risk and I am glad I did because within a week their December, Jan, and Feb boxes were sold out.  That is impressive.  I hope they can keep up with the demands in the new year.  Keep up with the good work.

November Top Box review

My TopBox finally came after a few weeks of MIA (mailed incorrect address) then later taken as hostage for a day at Canada Post.

I thought I was not going to receive it.

Total value of the package $55+

I received a *Bonus* deluxe sample because mishap with the mailing address.
The "deluxe" sample is the Caudalie: Premier Cru cream 1.7 oz @ $150 = sample size 0.06 oz @ $5.29
I have already tried this sample from my October Glymm Box.  Unfortunately, the sample is so small, I will be lucky if I can get 2 good uses out of it.  I would say this is a sample, not a "deluxe" sample.  I can't say I like the product and I doubt I will be spending $150 for the bottle.

I have always wanted to try Cake.
The lotion smells like vanilla cake.
I would love to try more of their products :)

My nail polish collection is grow and grow.
Deborah Lippman adds a nice touch to my pre painted nail polish.
Not sure if I will pay $20 for a nail polish.

I will be most like giving the Dr. Brandt Eye Serum to my mom.
It is too bad it does not help the dark circles under my eyes.

I was hoping to try Stila's lip gloss but instead I have the tinted moisturizer.  Am I the only one?  I have read/watched other blogs/youtube videos and so far everyone has the lip gloss.  Very odd.  I tried it and I like it.  I might buy the regular size bottle...

Overall...I am happy to receive my box but I doubt my bonus makes up for the mistake/error/glitch in the system.  However, I am glad that they were working really hard and posting updates to let us know the status of the package.
