Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock ~ #Review & #Giveaway

I don’t watch as many international films as I want to. In the past I have seen many Asian films but ever since I moved out I never got back into it. The few non Asian international film that I have seen are beautifully filmed but have a strange/odd story plot. You will know this was not made by Hollywood or Disney. Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart is an animated musical romance motion picture.

Jack was born with a frozen heart so the mid-wife replaced his heart with a cuckoo-clock so he can survive. One of the rules from owning a cuckoo-clock heart is that he must not fall in love but that went down the tube when he set his eyes on a girl singing near a fountain. I have to admit the story is strange but still beautifully written and animated. My favourite musical piece is when Jack sings a duet with Miss Acacia, the girl he was not suppose to fall in love with her, thus, starts of his grand adventure. This movie will transplant you into a whole new world but finding love and reaching for it is still the same no matter what world or era it is.

Madeleine the midwife saves his life by inserting a cuckoo clock in place of his defective heart. It will work, she warns him, as long as Jack observes three golden rules. First of all, he must never touch the hands of the clock. Secondly, he must control his anger. And last, but certainly not least, he must never, ever fall in love. The moment Jack sets eyes on a young girl singing on a street corner, the hands of his clock-heart begin to race. Desperate to find her again, Jack launches himself into a romantic quest that will lead him from the lochs of Scotland, to the city of Paris and all the way to Andalusia.
