I can't believe it is already February.  It has been only a month but this year, more than 15,500 cases of the flu have been reported in Canada since early January and an above average number of children have been hospitalized.  I guess I am not surprised by this statistic since I already know a few people who have gotten the flu this past month.

My daughters often have colds during the winter and their poor little noses are always runny.  After awhile I would notice their noses turn raw and red from all those wiping with a tissue.  Tissues are not the greatest tool to wipe our kids noses.  I have wiped plenty of noses when I was working with the kids at the Day Care for a number of years.  They would be mad or get upset when I wipe their noses with those terrible tissue papers.  They are so rough, I bet they feel like sand paper.  They would block me from touching their noses.  What can I do?
