Shout! Factory Animated Movie Adventure Long Way North ~ #Review

Long Way North is nothing I have seen before.  This movie has a moving, strong, and touching story.  I can't recall I have ever watched a movie about a ship so I can't compare this movie to other movies I have seen.  This movie is about a young upper class girl named Sacha from Saint Petersburg.  She had a strong relationship with her grandfather who's dream was to put a flag on top of the North Pole.  Unfortunately, he met a tragic end but he left his famous un-sinkable ship, Davai, behind that Sacha was determined to find.

Shout! Factory Animated Movie Adventure Long Way North

As a young female in the late 19th she was unable to seek help from her peers to help her to find her grandfather's ship.  Against all odds, she went off on her own to travel North where she believe the Davai is waiting.  While she was away from home, she discovered how easy her life was and was put under pressure working in a pub.  She may have some difficulties at first but in the end she moves forward and became stronger.  This lesson helped her when she was travelling with fellow sailors in dangerous terrain and weather near the North Pole.  Throughout the whole movie, Sacha demonstrates the strong determination even when all odds are against her.  Sacha could have listened to her parents and peers to drop her dream of finding the ship.  But because she strongly believes in her dream that she left her comforts of her home and went off to fulfill her dream.

I think everyone should watch this movie.  Not only it is entertaining but gives a strong message of if you strongly believe in something that you should not take no for an answer and make it happen.  It was more difficult for Sacha since 1882 has much less opportunities for women than we have today.
