Katie lost her mom so she has stopped living her life. Then she got the opportunity to watch Gibby over the summer while the owner is away. Gibby is a monkey. You might remember the monkey is from Night At The Museum. Of course, this movie needs a nemesis and you will meet Alicia. It has been awhile since I was in high school and I forget how mean girls can be. I was very lucky that I was never their target. Alicia is so jealous of Katie that she does some pretty mean things to her including letting Gibby escape and trying to ruin her gymnastics competition. In the end Gibby was found and all's well that ends well.
Gibby, on DVD in stores on August 2, stars Peyton Meyer (Girl Meets World), Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), Vivica A. Fox (Independence Day) and, of course, Crystal the Monkey (Night At The Museum). A young girl finds an unlikely and uplifting friendship with an adorable monkey in this charming, light-hearted film. Katie has lost interest in her school, her friends, and gymnastics following the loss of her mother. But her outlook changes in the summer when she is asked to monkeysit Gibby. Taking care of the monkey challenges Katie and reorders her life in a big way, and Gibby's happy-go-lucky personality renews Katie's zest for life. Parents who long for a clean and entertaining movie to watch with their children will be delighted. In addition, it is “Family Approved” by the Dove Foundation.
If you are looking for a great underdog story, I think you will like Endgame. My daughter and I really enjoyed watching this movie. This brings me back memories when I first learned how to play chess. I was never good at it. It takes great skills, patient, and strategies to play the game.
In, this movie we watched Jose going through some tough times. Then got himself into detention. A teacher saw a great opportunity to form a chess team from the students are in detention after watching Jose play chess. When you might think an impoverished high school might not win, they ended up winning the state championship.
The inspirational feature film Endgame, on DVD in stores July 5, stars Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family), Ivonne Coll (Jane The Virgin), Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite) and Justina Machado (The Purge: Anarchy), and will have bonus features including Spanish-language subtitles. Endgame is a fictional story based on true events - how an impoverished high school in the border town of Brownsville, Texas, started a chess team and went on to become state champions. The touching family-friendly film also touches on the subjects of immigration, being true to one’s self, and bullying.
