After a day or two there is makeup build up and one thing I hate doing is cleaning it. I am lucky that I don't have as much as some makeup artists but I still have to clean them every other day or at least weekly. Applying makeup with a clean brush is 100x better than a week old brushes with makeup. Makeup on brushes attracts dirt and bacteria which can cause acne. If there is anything I could do to help me to prevent me from getting acne I would try to do it.
I was so excited when Real Techniques created their own brush cleansing gel and brush cleansing palette. I would recommend for to watch the simple 5 minute video how to use the products. The gel is very creamy, mild, and clear. It is so mild it breaks down so easily when I use it. The brush cleansing palette has groves to give your brushes the deep cleansing it needs. It is much better than my hands. The palette is silicone and it has a loop handle at the back for easy grip. The palette could also serve as a duo purpose where I could set the brush on to dry because we should never dry by placing it up since it would eat away the glue that bounds the brushes to the handle.
The cleansing gel is better than a regular bar of soap. I needs a large drop of cleanser to clean each brush. I love how the palette helps me do a thorough cleaning to make sure it gets the makeup inside the brushes. It is ideal to use Real Techniques cleaning gel ($13.49) with the brush cleaning palette ($19.99) but I am guessing it could be pair up with another cleanser.
