SaltSpring SoapWorks ~ #Review

I love testing out new products and discovering brands.  Over the years I love to attend local trade shows and discover many Canadian brands.  I don't remember how but I happened to discover SaltSpring SoapWorks.  Their main flag ship is located at Saltspring Island in British Columbia.   Their products are handmade with rich organic ingredients.  It is a family-run business started almost 40 years ago.

SaltSpring SoapWorks Lavender Shea butter lotion peppermint cocoa butter foot lotion

Lavender Shea Butter Lotion:
It comes in an aluminium tube so it makes it easy to travel with.  I love the lavender scent.  It is noticeable.  The lotion has more runny texture.  I guess it must be from all the oils that is in the ingredients.  There is calendula oil, coconut oil, sea buckwheat oil, almond oil, Jojoba oi, sesame oil, carrot oil, wheat germ oil, and don't forget the lavender oil.  The shea butter is in the middle of the listed ingredients.  It has a light texture, absorbs fast, leaves my hand soft and hydrated.  It leaves my hands a dry touch finish, not greasy.

SaltSpring SoapWorks Body Gelato Strawberry body scrub

Body Gelato:
Made fresh every day.  Must be used within 3-4 weeks.  Made from pure sea salt.  This smells amazing.  When I opened my box, I was attacked by strawberries.  It smells so delicious that I am tempted to eat it.  The texture made me think of a sugar scrub until I read the ingredients.  The scrub made my skin feel soft and clean.  It can be used on wet or dry skin.  You can scrub first and then dive into your tube with warm water to have a nice relaxing bath.  This is an ideal product to polish off all those dead skin cells and prepare us for tank tops and shorts season.

Peppermint Cocoa Butter Foot Lotion:
If you like the Lavender Shea Butter Lotion then you will like the Peppermint Cocoa Butter Foot Lotion.  It has the same runny texture.  It contains wheat germ oil, castor oil, rose hip oil, St. John's wort oil, calendula oil, sea buckwheat oil, peppermint oil, and of course, coconut butter.  I had always thought I needed thicker texture lotion for my foot to hydrate them.  I am amazed that after one use my feet feels less cracked and dry.  This is a great product to have during the summer when I will be wearing sandals (without socks) for most of the season.
SaltSpring SoapWorks Apothika - Skin Renewing Serum: Wrinkle Repair

Apothika - Skin Renewing Serum: Wrinkle Repair:
Recently I had my birthday and I have become more self conscious that I don't appear older than I am.  My girl friend who was older was surprised I was using anti aging products.  I told her I am trying to prevent my skin from the signs of aging.  It defeats the purpose if I waited too long to use them.  I love using serums, they have high concentrated anti aging agents.  This serum has a oil texture.  It contains sage and rosemary oil that you will definitely notice.  At first my skin feels oily until your skin fully absorbs the serum.   This products is great product to have if you have normal to dry skin.   I know this is something my mom would love.

  38. I think I'm an oddball. I can't stand the scent of lavender...or rose. Sadly, most natural skin care products seem to contain these ingredients. It is so frustrating. The other products looks very interesting though.
