That is one of the main reasons why I hate appointments. You might never know what kind of sheanniagans the girls might pull before we are out the door.
You can read my first three tips - here. My next three tips are:
One Location
There are some items that you should store in one location so you wont forget where they are when you need them. Mittens, hats, scarves, umbrellas, etc... are stored in one location like the main closet. Important documents like passport, health cards, birth certificates, etc... should always be in once location like the office or bedroom drawer. Once you are finished using them, put them back right away so the next time you need them, you are not searching the whole house for them.I don't do this but I should. We should date and label our foods when put into fridge/freezer to prevent food poisoning and reminding us how long the food was sitting in the fridge. You can use masking tape to label the box or bag instead writing on them. Maybe with the dates on the containers, you could help prevent wasting food when you know how long the food has been sitting there.
Shopping List
They say bring a shopping list helps you save money. If you stick to what is on your list instead going isle by isle, you might be surprised how much "extra" stuff you don't need. It was suggested that when shopping for food, stay at the perimeter of the store because that is where usually where all the necessities are (fruits/veggies, bread, meat, and milk). Also, when you have the list you won't forget anything for that day/week(s) so you wont need to run to the store a second time.
