L’OCCITANE Apricot Shea Solidarity Balm #InternationalWomensDay

March 8, 2016 is International Women's Day and in some countries like China, Russia, Vietnam, and Bulgaria it is a national holiday.  It is a day to celebrate women's successes and achievements of women past, present and future.  The first International Women's Day dates back 1911, (March 19) where 1 million women and men "campaigning for women's rights to work, vote, be trained, to hold public office and end discrimination."  It was later in 1975 where the United Nation designated March 8 as International Women's Day.

L’OCCITANE Apricot Shea Solidarity Balm #InternationalWomensDay

I am not sure how long L'Occitane has been promoting International Women’s Day with their Limited Edition Solidarity Balm.  Every year I always look forward to their latest release.  I use it as a multi-purpose balm - for my hands, nails, and lips.  It smells amazing and it feels great on my lips and hands.  If you are interested in purchasing one, I would suggest you hurry because they do sell out pretty quickly.

This year, L’OCCITANE celebrates 35 years of working hand in hand with the women of Burkina Faso, who provide all of our Shea Butter. To commemorate International Women’s Day, we are launching a new Apricot Shea Solidarity Balm. The profits made from this balm will benefit thousands of Burkinabe women.

The 2018 Solidarity Balm combines the richness of African soil and the fragrant atmosphere of the South of France vergers (orchards).

The price of the Solidarity Balm is $7 CAD, and will be available in L’OCCITANE boutiques across Canada and online at ca.loccitane.com from February 15th, 2017 until March 20th, 2018.

  1. I think it's marvellous that they've actually been supporting and working hand in hand with the women of Burkina Faso for so very long.
