Excel your Confidence with Stacy London ~ #PR

A few weeks ago, I had a great opportunity to meet the infamous Stacy London to get great tips to Excelerate your Confidence. Yes, this is the same Stacy from the American version of “What Not to Wear” from TLC. After meeting her I wanted to watch the shows again.  I had always wanted to participate in one of their shows.  What I have noticed is that her personality is exactly the same as what you will see from watching the show. She is funny, vibrant, and knowledgeable.

Stacy dropped by in Toronto at the Soho House a few weeks ago on a wet and gloomy October day.   Stacy stepped into a room full of bloggers and media to brighten our spirit up and to bring in her expertise.  Stacy had joined forces with Excel to help Canadians Excelerate their confidence inside and out (as well as Americans too).

Excel wants the public to know that having fresh breath is just as important as dressing themselves well. Most Canadian and including me never leave home without a pack in out bag. If I am at work and in need of a stick of gum, there is always someone at the office that I could ask for a piece of Excel gum. No one likes to talk to anyone with bad breath. Excel always tastes great and there are so many options to choose from.  During the session with Stacy you can hear people crackling open a pack of Excel to pop a gum into their mouth.

Having fresh breath is just as important as dressing oneself when going out.  Anyone can look fabulous with the perfect outfit and hair but it won't be worth much if the person has bad breath.  No one wants to talk or hang out with anyone with bad breath.  Especially if you are networking and making first impressions.  Best advise is to carry a pack of Excel with you at all times.

I wished I had recorded the whole session with Stacy because she gave us so many wonderful ideas and tips. She dressed up 3 mannequins like I was watching an episode of “What Not to Wear” to inspire us regarding what we could wear to the office, after the gym, or casual Fridays.

Here are a few things I remember during the session:

1. Travel size products could always be used during a night out. It is ideal to put the same products you love in each purse you use so you do not have to keep on transferring in each bag you are using.
2. Must have collared shirts in your wardrobe - almost like a necessity.
3. Dark green skirts are a must have this fall season
4. Outfit, Outcome, Build Confidence.
5. Don’t follow trends, wear what works for your body

Stacy says it’s not surprising that we feel more confident with we have fresh breath. “Along with how we dress, fresh breath contributes to the overall impression we make in almost any social situation,” says London. “Freshening our breath is one of the easiest things we can do to build confidence, anywhere. Whether it is a night out with friends, shooting a TV segment or travelling for business – gun is an absolute must-have in my bag”

Excel is Canada’s number one gum brand and can be purchased at retail location across Canada at an MSRP of $1.19. #ExcelConfidence

  3. I agree entirely with the statement: Don’t follow trends, wear what works for your body. I'm amazed at what some people wear when it definitely doesn't suit their body at all and I'm not a fashion guru or anything like that.
