Half full vs Half empty?

It is sad to admit that I see my glass half empty. This avoids disappointment. Then again that might sabotage me. There were many times I would sign up hoping to get picked to do the job. There were a few times I wanted something so badly that I was so disappointed I was not on the list.

Over the years I believed that if you worked hard enough, something good will come out of it. Alas, it is not always the case. It is not fun when I worked so hard and in the end it gets shot down or it is not good enough. It is not fun working for a company who just takes me for granted. They focus on my mistakes and not my contributions to the company.

So, am I half full or half empty? I am still half empty but I have learned to accept the outcomes as they come. “It is what it is”. There is no changing it. There is no point in being disappointed if I don’t get to be chosen or things didn’t work out. No point of mulling over it. I guess it is what is meant to be. Can’t waste on negative energy so all I could do is keep on going.

One of the best quotes I had discovered is:

“It’s not about whether the glass is half full or half empty, it’s about who is paying for the next round.” – Anonymous

If anyone one wants to buy me a drink or two I would gladly accept.

Is your glass half full or half empty?

  3. Life can really suck sometimes but looking at the glass half full can sometimes help you ignore the empty. This has been the 2nd worst year of my life and I refuse to not look at the sunshine. Keep smiling lovely.

  5. Now my glass is near empty!!
Which is how I really feel at the moment. Our house was built 2 yrs ago but with many, many faults. For example my heating (basement flat) is way too cold in winter, it's fine says the builder. My kitchen island drives me nuts because it's not been put in straight. The pipes to my kitchen sink freeze in winter and ice forms on some outlets. Where is the pride in a job well done???
