The past few years I have been enjoying painting my nails. I can do the basic two coats nail polish and on the odd occasion, simple nail art design. Even though I had been an art student, I have always had two left thumbs. However I think it is still fun to play with new nail products and maybe discover something I can do in a jiffy.
Formula X for Sephora -
Delete nail polish remover (160ml, C$13) I love the no spill pump. I always worry when I am doing my nails when the girls are running around. When I saw it tipped, I panicked for a second and was happy nothing spilled. Unlike the traditional bottle of nail polish remover, those for sure would have spilled all over the table. It did a decent job of removing my previous nail polish. There have been many great reviews on this product however, I still love my Sephora's Instant Nail Polish Remover (75ml, C$11).
Nail Strengthener (12ml, C$13)
A restorative treatment that improves weak and brittle nails.
What it does:
Formulated with Nonycosine-E, an ingredient that improves nail strength and flexibility, and enriched with calcium for added resilience, this treatment will revitalize your nails.
I have weak nails that is one of the main reasons why I keep them short. After a certain length it cracks and get indented. I can't wait to try this for a few weeks to see if this will improve my nails. I had found this to be a great base coat for my nail polishes.
Nail Cleanser (12ml, C$13)
A gentle, non-drying cleanser that preps your nails for optimal base coat and color application. An essential step in extending the life of your manicure, cleansing your nails removes invisible impurities, leaving them perfectly primed for base coat and lacquer. Cleanse is infused with witch hazel extract (a naturally effective ingredient that purifies the surface of the nail), Vitamin E (to condition nails), and invigorating cucumber extract.
I think this is a great product to have to prep my nails for nail art to make sure there is no residue to make them last longer.
Effects Nail Colour, "Light My Fire" (12ml, $15)
This has become one of my favourite nail glitters. I had many nail glitters that felt too weird on my nails or the glitter on my nails was uneven. Once I applied it on my nails I thought it was easy to use and perfect after two applications. The colour of champagne and rainbow in 3D glitter is very pretty. I was even complimented on my nails. She thought I had it professionally done and was surprised I did it all myself.
ASAP 3D "Animal Instinct" - shiny black leopard spots ($18)
These stick on nail lacquers are so easy to use. Peel and stick but maybe too easy because they were so easy to chip while I was applying it. Maybe I was not applying it close to my cuticles because my hair got stuck between my cuticles and the nail lacquer while I was washing my hair. I love the design and this is the easiest way for me to do some nail art in a breeze. It can be removed by using nail polish remover because it is real lacquer and not stickers. My daughter was watching me and wanted it on her fingers. I did it to two of her fingers and she loves it as well. It is not the easiest nail lacquer to come off but it did eventually.
Formula X for Sephora has plenty of other products I would love to try. Have you tried any?
