Having Fun Learning with LeapFrog LeapStart #Review

I can't believe my baby girl just had her birthday about a week ago.  She is now a big girl but she will always be my baby girl.  If you are wondering what to give to your child on their special day, I would recommend the LeapFrog LeapStart.

Over the years I have purchased many LeapFrog products.  I even bought the original LeapPad - the one where the books come with a cartridge that reminds me of the Nintendo cartridge you have to plug into a machine.  The LeapStart is slimmer and there are no cartridges required.  Now you have to connect the LeapStart to your computer and download the books.  You will need to create an account (which I already have) and takes about 5 mins to upload the book.  There are so much activities each book contains.  It is all about play learning.  Kids learn so much if when they are having fun.

The books are sold separately but their are some that comes in a set.  My daughters love the Trolls and the Paw Patrol books and she has been playing on them for days.  The LeapStart is a huge improvement from the LeapPad from over a decade ago.  First you can control the volume on the LeapStart and there is a headphone jack where the LeapPad didn't have.  I was surprised that it needs 2 AA batteries.  I was hoping the LeapStart was a rechargeable and does not need batteries.  I am hoping the next version will not require them.  Just remember to turn it off when not using it or it will drain the batteries very quickly.

This is a great item to take with you when you are going on a family vacay especially if it includes a long travel time.  When my daughter is not kept busy, she can be a handful.  If your child is starting school in September, this LeapStart may help them to get a head start.  My daughter will be off the next two months so I want her to improve her reading skills and I think LeapStart can help.

My daughter was so happy to receive the LeapFrog LeapStart for her birthday.  She has been carrying it around and showing it off to the rest of her family.

As a leader in innovative solutions, LeapFrog’s LeapStart is filled with more than 400 activities across a library of 25+ books. LeapStart helps children (ages 2-7) learn to read and write, with an interactive and personalized system that promotes confidence in children. It’s the perfect toy for family vacay with its carrying handle for portability and minimal assembly required.

  7. LeapFrog products are so great! We have several, but not this one. My kids loves to read. My oldest likes to use her leap frog pen to help her with her reading. She reads the page and then uses the pen to check that she got the words right. Pretty neat.
