Everyday Diabetes Meals Cooking for One or Two Recipe Book ~ #Review #Giveaway

My grandmother and my mother-in-law had diabetes.  I bet there are more family members has it that I may not be aware of.  In the United States, diabetes affects 29 million people and is the seventh leading cause of death.  In Canada, 11 million Canadians live with diabetes or prediabetes.  This is not my area of expertise but it is basically your body can't control the sugar level in your blood.  When you have diabetes, it is highly advised to monitor what you eat so you can control the sugar level in your body.

Everyday Diabetes Meals Cooking for One or Two ~ #Review #Giveaway

The first three chapters of the book contains a lot of information on the different types of Diabetes, facts on different types of fats, and covers some questions you might have.  Then the book is broken up into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks.  There is even a bonus section for holidays, everyday occasions, and there is a 14 day meal plan to help you get started.

There are about 16 amazing photos in the book and hundreds of simple recipes.  The recipes are shown with both metric system as well as by weight.  Measuring the ingredients by weight is more accurate than measuring by cups and spoons.  Each recipe has some facts, tips, health info, and nutrients per servings.

I have a sweet tooth so I have to check out what kind of goodie recipes I could make.  There is a recipe for  Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Avocado Ice Cream, and Salted Cocoa Strawberries.  I have noticed in the few baking recipes that instead of using all purpose flour it uses almond flour (almond meal).  I have never used other flours and I wonder what almond flour taste like.

I think this is a great recipe book for people with diabetes and for those who doesn't too.  It has many great ideas for the whole family.
