I was discussing with one of my co-workers which skin condition is worse – having oily skin with bad acne or sensitive dry skin. I had terrible oily skin that causes acne all over my face. I would remember it would be oily even a few hours after I washed my face. My youngest daughter has developed dry skin that has become flaky, itchy, and sensitive. A total opposite of what I had but it also came with a list with its own problems.
Now as I am older, my skin is still oily but now flaky and dehydrated. My mom had told me as her skin matures, it became drier and she has found it an issue and it is driving her nuts. Vichy came out with Aqualia Thermal Power Serum (30ml, $42) and Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Light Cream (50ml, $38.50) to help us to keep skin hydrated and non-irritated.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal contains 3 key ingredients:
Hyaluronic Acid – hold 1,000 times its weight in water, making it the best water absorber available for the skin.
Aquabioryl (or fucogel) -it is a sugar that is obtained through a biotechnological process from plant-based substrates.
Aquabioryl is able to create a highly-moisturizing protective film on the surface of the skin that reinforces the protection of the cutaneous barrier against dehydration. Plus, Aquabioryl provides the skin with a long term moisturizing effect that makes it an excellent complement to Hyaluronic acid.
λ-carraghanes – they are extracted from the cell walls of a red algae. Due to their structure, they are similar to the glycosaminoglycans found in the skin. Carrageenans are interesting because they restore the barrier function, which can maintain moisture and smooth the surface of the skin.
Wow, I love these two new Vichy products. They worked amazingly on my skin. I love the serum. It is perfect for this summer. It is extremely light weight and it quickly absorbs onto my skin. I love using this during the day with or without my makeup. It keeps my face nicely hydrated and lasts me all day long. I love the texture and the cute little bottle it comes in. The light cream is much thicker texture than the serum. I love to use this as a night cream. I also love how it keeps my face hydrated all night long. Vichy Aqualia Thermal – tested on sensitive skin under dermatological control, paraben-free, hypoallergenic, highest concentration Vichy Thermal Spa Water.
