Love Art Fair (May 7-11, 2014) ~ #Event & #Giveaway

Love Art?  I have always been a fan of art.  Back in high school I took art class all the way to OAC/Grade 13 (extinct).  Was I any good?  No, not by a long shot but I did enjoy art.  It was a class where I could enjoy and have fun.  The majority of my high school friends were art students as well.  Only a few of them continued into the arts program.  The only place I knew to enjoy art work was at the AGO.  The gallery has some of my favourite art pieces.  Sometimes don't you just wish you could own a piece of art because a certain piece just draws you in.  We all think there is no way we can afford it but it turns out we can.

Love Art Fair

Toronto will welcome its first Love Art Fair that will bring over 50 local and international galleries all in one place.  About 60% of the participating galleries will hail from Canada (half from Toronto) and the rest will be from the US and around the world.  Love Art Fair (May 7-11, 2014) will include thousand of painting, photography, prints and sculptures with price range between $100-$10,000 with over half of the pieces are under $5,000.  This four day event will provide a huge array of original contemporary art and unique programming including a wide variety workshops, panel discussions, cocktails and gourmet bites, kids' activities and other points of interest.

Love Art Fair is the Canadian edition of the Affordable Art Fair which operates in 12 cities worldwide - London (England), New York, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Singapore, Amsterdam, Maastricht, Brussels, Hamburg, Milan, Stockholm, and now Toronto.  They are annual fair in most cities but a few are held semi-annually.  Singapore ranked the highest in visitors of one million and the ratio of someone purchasing was 1:2.  This Love Art Fair in Toronto will mark its 99th stop and the next one (100th) will be in Singapore.

There will be a free of charge wrapping station at the fair where you can easily take the art work home.  They have an ad that you can carry the artwork on a bike if you wanted to.  If you need the artwork delivered to your home or office, you can arrange to have it shipped for free.  More details at the fair.

It all began in 1999, when Will Ramsay founded Affordable Art Fair in London (England), he introduced a price ceiling and the mandatory labeling of artwork, customers were able to see exactly what they could afford.  This will provide a friendly and less intimating atmosphere

The Love Art Fair will be at:
Heritage Court, Direct Energy Centre, 100 Princes' Boulevard, Exhibition Place, Toronto
