SkinCeuticals Advanced Skin Discolouration Corrector ~ #Review

Let's face it.  I never like to look like my age or older. Unfortunately my skin goes through so much abuse it shows.  It's funny how we love to have someone to check our IDs when we go out drinking.  In my case, it has not happened for quite sometime.  My skin discolouration is from old acne scars, stress, lack of sleep, and UV exposures.  Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I don't recall sunscreen was important and my mom never put any on me.  It is only in the past few years I have been putting it on since I didn't want my skin tone to get any worse.  My hope is to even out my skin tone and lighten up the few dark spots on my face.

SkinCeuticals conducted a test on people aged 25-60 using the corrector twice a day and combined using SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser and Physical UV Defense SPF 30.

We need to remember to use sunscreen when using this product because without it, the UV rays will still continue to damage skin when the corrector is trying to repair it.  Our skin won't have the chance to repair the damages.

According to SkinCeuticals, the test shows that after 8 weeks one will start to see the product starting to work and after 12 weeks their skin will continue to improve.

SkinCeuticals also recommend using Retinol 0.5 at night for added efficacy for the severe discolouration.

I have been using this product close to 2 weeks and I will continue to use it to see if my dark spots will fade.  It could be the combination of staying indoors all day and the cream where I have noticed my face has become lighter and not so tanned from too much sun.  The cream is light and gentle with no odor and greasy feel.  It absorbs quickly leaving a matte finish.  Even though I have been using it for a few weeks I have high hopes that it will continue to lighten up my skin.

SkinCeuticals Advanced Skin Discolouration Corrector (30ml, C$104) is available through selected distribution channels via dispensing doctors, medical-spas and high-end spas across Canada.  For store locator please visit www.skinceuticals.com/canada.

  20. Too bad it doesn't have sunscreen in it. I don't want to have to apply 3 different creams to my face morning and evening.

  22. I'd be curious to see your results! I have a couple dark spots (more like patches) on up upper cheek bones and they drive me nuts. I also tend to notice them more in the summer, probably because I am out in the sun more, even with SPF.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and you're right we were never concerned with sunscreen as a matter of fact I used to always sunbathe every summer and I don't remember any warnings other than ageing. These products sound great for helping skin.
