If you missed my previous 3 tips posts, you can read them here, here, and here.
Here are an additional 3 tips that I hope will assist you in becoming a more organized mom.
Donations, Keep, Throw Out
Out grown shoes, One left mittens, or maybe over worn t-shirts. I believe it is time to purge. We dont want our family clothing collection to be out of control... or at least we try. Sort through the stuff - one room at a time. If you try to do it all at once you will feel overwhelmed. Sometimes, I set up a box marked "Donation" and let it slowly accumulate over the days. Once it is full, we drop it off and start a new one.
Papers, papers, & more papers
Art work, report cards, awards, or school related papers can get overwhelming at times. I do the best I can to keep them all in one location. The most papers I get are usually artwork created by my girls. Sometimes I give them away to grandparents or uncles. As mothers, we love the artwork our kids bring home, and we want to keep all of their precious memories. However, we don't have enough storage space in our homes for all of the paints, drawings, and sketches. A great way to preserve the works of our little Picasso's is to scan or take pictures of each piece, but only keep the special ones which will adorn the walls and fridges. If we aren't careful, pretty soon our basements and attics will be filled with Tupperware containers overflowing with artwork!
Time out
Dishes needs to be washed or put away, laundry needs to be done, windows need to be washed, rugs need to be vacuumed - the list is endless. Sometimes just spending time with your kids or family is more important than washing the floor. We are so caught up with everything else we tend to forget to spend some quality time with loved ones. So spend some time with the kids and/or significant other because things could wait until tomorrow.
