Limited Edition: The Body Shop Smoky Poppy ~ #Review

You must have seen The Body Shop’s limited edition Smoky Poppy collection launched just before Valentine’s Day. This post is a bit late since I received my products to test after Valentine’s Day. Oh well, better late than never. I had the pleasure of trying their Body Scrub and their Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick.

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy

The Smoky Poppy collection is infused with real, handpicked poppy flowers from the Ankara region of Turkey. This sensual and indulgent range will leave you longing for more, with a euphoric scent for ultimate body bliss.

When I opened the Smoky Poppy Seed Scrub, it looks like I opened a dragon fruit – white “flesh” with black seeds. The scrub smells like my poppy seed bagel and there is only a light scent and it is not strong. The scrub makes my body feel abit greasy like I used lotion in the shower. After I have dried myself off, the greasiness is gone and my skin feels wonderfully hydrated. The scrub is gentle and not rough on the skin as long you don’t apply too much pressure.

I love The Body Shop lip and cheek velvet sticks. It is easy to use and the matte lips look is all the rage. I think I like it on my cheeks more than on my lips since it does not last on my lips very long. I love how the Universal Lip & cheek velvet stick looks on my skin. It may surprise you like it did to me. It transforms to adapt to the unique pH of your skin into your own individual poppy shade. Once I apply it on my lips it turns to a dark purple instead of black. When I Googled what other colours it looks like on other people and it looks like the same shade like mine does, but I have only seen a few pictures posted. Regardless it is the perfect shade that I can wear. Check them out before they are gone.
