Simply Merino: Made in New Zealand ~ #Review & #Giveaway

The one time I'm always sure to read labels is when I am purchasing clothing for both myself and the kids.  I mostly prefer purchasing items that are 100% or mostly natural fibers.  It is insane to know how much polyester clothing there is compared to other natural fabrics.

Let me introduce you to Simply Merino, which is a top notch Canadian company in Vancouver, BC (Yeah Canada!) which specializes clothing for kids (from infants to 12 years of age) made from 100% Merino wool, sourced and manufactured in New Zealand.

What is Merino wool?
This wool is from the Merino sheep and is a naturally fire resistant, which means she can sit by a fire place at the cottage or by a bon fire roasting marshmallows during camping.  "It is a natural fabric that breathes, keeping your child's body dry and comfortable as well as regulating their body temperature, keeping them cool when it's warm and warm when it's cool."  The texture of merino wool is much different than regular wool.  It is so soft that it has surprised many people who have never touch or felt merino wool before.

My daughter loves clothes.  She loves it when I bring her home a new outfit.  When she saw what I brought home she couldn't wait to try it on.  She does not understand the word "Later" so in a flash she started stripping to put it on.  She loves the colour and the outfit fits her perfectly.  You have to understand, my daughter is only 6 years old but she is wearing size 10 clothing.  She is that tall.  She has the tall gene from both my husband and my brother because they are over 6 ft tall.  Seriously, she is like a weed, I blink and she has gained 2 inches.  It is great for them to include a sizing chart in inches just to be sure.  Even though the website says 9/10 years but it is nice to double check with measurements.

Simply Merino has a simple range of quality products which is mostly gowns, sleepers, and two piece sets which could be worn on their own or as pajamas or as thermal wear.  They are easy to wash by popping into the washer and dyer but if possible to hand dry the garments (although this is not necessary).

After she put it on she said it was soft and comfy.  Then she asked where are the socks?  *Hint*Hint*  She is one funny kid and a genius and she takes after me...the genius part (if you told that to my husband he will disagree).  I have a Merino top and it is not as soft and comfy as my daughter's.  I am so jealous and maybe one day the company might consider making clothing for adults.

Giveaway!!

Simply Merino would like to offer one of my readers their own choice (colour & size) Merino Wool Thermal Underlayer (Top).

This contest will run from June 26th to July 19th, 2013 (midnight EST).  Winner, You have 72 hours to reply.  You must be 18+ Canadians Only.  Good Luck!

Eaurganic has the Perfect Skin Care Products ~ #Review & #Giveaway

Eaurganic has these great products for refreshing and healthy looking skin using just cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

Step 1 (Splash 120ml, Reg $29.99, Sale on Shop.ca $20.99)
Ultra-Mild facial cleanser - wow, this cleanser is so gentle, gentler than my baby wash I use for my daughter.  It is suitable for all ages and skin types including sensitive skin.  It contains "sulfate-free formula and has a natural sugar-based cleansing compound that's mild on the skin.  It also contains full of organic Glycerin and a natural lipid layer enhancer that helps soften the skin and brighten up dull-looking complexions."

It is advised to remove makeup like using Eaurganic Fine makeup remover milk first before using this cleanser.

It is so light I almost wonder if I am using any cleaner at all.  It is so gentle I have even used it on my daughter.  It cleansed and does not strip away any moisture that would leave my face dry.  This is a fantastic cleanser to use everyday and I don't know if I could live without it.

Step 2 (Nature 120ml, Reg $29.99, Sale on Shop.ca $20.99)
Pore-refining facial tonic - must be made for my skin type...how did they know.  I use toners after each face wash to remove any lingering dirt or residue.  I can't apply any moisturizer without my routine of wiping down my face to make sure my face is squeaky clean.

Toners helps at removing any last traces of dirt or oil.  It proclaims it relieving redness and irritation and "increases skin absorption and enhances the effectiveness of other products, particularly moisturizer and anti-aging products".

It also proclaims that it is "highly effective at tightening up enlarged pores and prevent future pores by reducing buildup and creating an even base" to apply your makeup.

All toner I've used in the past come in a similarly shaped pour bottle but this one is a spray which I love.  This spray bottle allows a better control of how much to put into a cotton pad.  A few times I have pour more than I should and founded it a waste.  I found the toner leaving my face fresher and cleaner and preparing for me to apply my moisturizer.

Step 3 (Ecstasy 50ml, Reg $59.95, Sale on Shop.ca $41.95)
Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer - is perfect for my dehydrated, oily skin.

It proclaims to "reduce fine lines and wrinkles to give you younger, glowing skin.  It uses a special blend of botanical AHAs, including glycolic acid, to gently peel away the top layer of skin cells from the skin's surface, leaving your with the fresh, smooth skin underneath."

It also proclaims to "leaves your skin soft and plump and suited for anyone who suffers from fine lines and wrinkles due to aging skin."

This is a great moisturize for my skin type.  I don't see many wrinkles (yet!), but it is better I start now to prevent it from happening. This creme is fantastic!  It absorbs fast and non greasy.  It is a thicker cream so it is perfect as my night cream.  When I wake up the next morning my skin feels hydrated and comfortable which helps me to tackle another day at work.

The bottom line, I love these products.  They are a must try if you are looking for refreshing, illuminating, happy and healthy skin.  The products contains no nasties for your skin and who wants to put that on or in their body.  Natural and organic ingredients are safe and perfect for maintaining healthier looking skin.

Eaurganic products are made with minimum of 95% natural ingredients and the plant ingredients are certified to be at least 95% organic.

Eaurganic's Ultra-Mild facial cleanser, Pore-refining facial tonic, and the Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer are free from sulfate free, GMO, parabens, artificial colour, perfume, silicone free, and not tested on animals.  All been dermatologically tested and proven to be non-irritating.  It is natural and organic cosmetic certified.

They are available at selected Rexall, online at well.ca, and shop.ca.  Check them out on their Facebook page and their website for promotions and their current and future contest(s).  *Update - Eaurganic is having a weekly giveaway worth $30, celebrating the launch of their brand new website at www.eaurganic.com.  To enter, all you have to do is visit the website and fill out the form on their home page.

Michelin: Just In Case Kit, Be Prepare ~ #Review & #Giveaway

Warmer weather has finally arrived and there is only a few weeks left of school.   You know what that means?  Road Trip!  Every summer we plan to visit the US for a few days to have some quality family vacation.  When on the road for 2, 8, or even 12 hours the unspeakable thing could happen - the car does not start or there was a accident.

It is nice to be prepared and have your Just In Case Kit already packed into the car.

This kit has the following items:
Jumper cable
flash light
small pylon
gloves
2D batteries
poncho
2 tea light candles, box of wooden matches
6 wet naps
safety vest
reflective emergency blanket
Plastic Call Police Sign
1 large size napkin
3 lock straps
10 regular size Bandages
3 Benzalkonium chloride antiseptic towelette
Gauze Sponges
Alcohol Prep Pad
These items are mostly in ziploc bags to protect them from getting wet.

Other things to consider to include:
pen and paper (sticky notes)
scissors
tapes
umbrella
snow scraper
bottled water
snacks (with long expiry dates)

It is never pleasant to be stranded with nothing to help in case of emergency.  Even if you have road side assistance plan there is a possibility that "help" might not arrive soon enough.  Sometimes, quick action with the right supplies could help to get by for the moment of need.  There were many times we had needed a jumper cable.  I could never understood why my husband never purchased one in the first place.  Sometimes people never think it will happen again.  Now we have one all packed up and in the car.  I just hope we never have to use it.

This Just In Case Kit (C$30) may not have everything you need but it has the essentials that you will need in case of an emergency.  It is up to you to add to the kit what you think could happen and what you will need to use until help arrives.

A couple of Summer Safety Tips from Michelin:
1. Tread lightly
-don't forget to do the "penny test" on your tires
2. Have a professional give your car a summer check-up
-help avoid those unpleasant surprise like your AC not working...yep, been there, done that...
3. Spare tires go a long way
-might never know
4. Don't sleep and steer
-be kind and not snooze on the road, go nap somewhere else
5. Don't forget to pack your safety supplies
-plan ahead goes a long way
6. Have fun

One important rule is to replace used "one time use" products immediately after using them.  Never know when you will use them again.  You don't want to be caught off-guard.

Just remember to drive safe, keep your eyes on the road and if you are travelling with me, I call "Shot Gun."  Happy road trip.

Anyone interested in winning one of their own Just In Case Kit?  Don't know why I bother to ask, sure you do!  Michelin would like to offer one of my readers their own Just In Case Kit.

Giveaway!!

Let President's Choice Brings you some Summer fun (2013 edition) ~ #Review

Spring just flew by, school is going to be out in a few weeks and this Friday will be the first day of Summer.  The one thing I love to check out for the summer weather is the Spring/Summer edition of President's Choice Insider's Report.  They showcase so many ideas for us to use for the back-yard birthday parties, family BBQ night, or a tasty meal to have at lunch.

I received the PC Limited Edition Silver Anniversary Tin ($6.99) which included 2 bags (300g) of their popular The Decadent Chocolate Chip cookies.  If you share your victory to PC, they might treat you to some cookies.  Enter here.  They are always a success in this household.  My husband and my two daughters managed to polish off two whole bags while I was only able to grab a few cookies before they are all eaten up.  When my husband came home and stuck his hand in the empty tin he he cried long, sad tears of sorrow - especially since he had a cold glass of milk waiting,  with no delicious PC cookies to dunk into it.

From their Black Label Collection, I was very excited to try the Golden Raisin & Apricot Muesli (540g, $5.99).  I will be taking this to work and eat it for breakfast.  I either would use this as a cereal or as a topping on my yogurt.  However, I love the idea to included it with my apple pie and ice cream.  I am trying to think of an excuse for my husband to grab apple pie and ice cream at the store this very moment.

There was no way I could hide a Club Size bag of Milk Chocolate Covered Almonds (1.1 kg, $9.99) from my husband.  His eyes just zoned in to this bag of yummy goodness.  He could sniff out chocolates in my kitchen, no matter where I hide them.  He didn't just grab one or two from the bag - a fist full!  Of course when it was my daughter's turn to have some, she copied her dad and tried to grab a handful with her tiny little hands.  Of course most of them fell out between her fingers but she manage to hold on to quite a few.   I wonder how long these would last...maybe PC might have to consider a Mega Club size for this family.  PC needs to sell this in a larger size bag.  The 3 hyenas finished the whole bag without leaving me a crumb.

I will be hosting a birthday party soon and these PC Sea Salt Pita Crackers (142g, $2.49) couldn't have come at a better time.  PC recommends to pair this up with their PC Spinach & Kale Dip but I am thinking to pair it up with my hummus I have in the fridge.  I bet these will taste great with the salsa I have stored away for the party too.  These will be a huge hit and I think I might need to grab another bag so I have enough to last for the evening.

My daughter will be going away to her very first camping trip and this PC S'mores Kit (480g, $6.99) is a great idea to have to bring along for their camp fire.  However, they have to purchase their own kit since this one is calling my name.  I can't recall when the last time was that I had a s'mores and my mouth is desperate to taste the gooey, delicious and sweet treat.  I bet it tastes amazing baking in front of a fire place but I think it will taste just as good from the microwave.  Besides, I am not the only one who wants to open the box before the trip.  Can I blame it on my husband?

If you are like me, you love green tea but hate drinking the same boring flavours.  You have to try PC Sparkling Green Tea with Citrus and Honey Flavours (8 x 355ml, $2.99).  It is just sweet enough to taste the honey and the citrus, and it brings a pleasant and refreshing taste that I think every green tea drinker will enjoy.

Then when I pulled out the PC roasted Garlic & Herb Quinoa (225g, $2.49), my husband was very eager for me to make it for dinner using this ingredient.  He said it is healthy and tastes amazing.  It is a great alternative to grains like rice and couscous, it's also a source of fibre and iron."  There is a great recipe called Warm Quinoa, Spinach, and Shitake Salad recipe on the pc.ca website that I want to try.

PC always has a great line up of products for this summer from burgers to cookies regardless of whether it is a new product or not.  However, in my case, I love to try new products with my family.  I can't wait to pop into their store to try one of their newest dessert items like the PC Passion Fruit Topped Greek Yogurt cheesecake or their Vanilla Flavoured Greek Frozen Yogurt or their PC Loads of Coconut Fruit Bars.  Already planning on a trip with my grocery list full of PC products.

Protect Your Skin with Vichy ~ #Review & #Giveaway

I can't believe Summer is just around the corner.  Now that I am out more often, especially going for my runs and taking the kids on our excursions, I have been trying to put sunscreen on myself and the kids as often as I can.  The main reason why we don't like putting on sunscreen is because sometimes it can take too long to absorb so it makes us look like clowns or give us that awful greasy feel.

There are only a few sunscreens the family enjoy using and Vichy is one of them.  Vichy's Capital Soleil Mexoryl XL Bare skin feel lotion has more of a lotion texture than a cream and it can be use for both the face and body.  It absorbs quickly leaving my skin non oily or sticky.  I hate to put it on and then can't even open the front door because my hands are all gross and slippery.  Also it  barely leaves any white residue.  You know what I mean, no matter how much you rub it in, there are white streak marks that are hard to get rid of.   My daughter hates me putting her sunscreen on because of the white streak marks and believe other classmates will make fun of her.  After I told her that this sunscreen won't leave any marks, she was content to let me to put it on.

It is also water resistance so we are still protected during the hot sweaty summer weather but it is recommended to apply more often if we plan to go swimming this summer.  What I also like is how Vichy's Capital Soleil Bare Skin Feel lotion does not have that unpleasant sunscreen smell.  There is a slight sunscreen scent but not as bad as the other brands.  We always remember to put sunscreen on our face and body but I bet majority forget to put on their lips.  Vichy's Capital Soleil Mexoryl XL lip protection stick has no sun screen scent but actually has a light sweet sent.  Perfect for this summer.  I know I will be using this often underneath my lip stick or combine it with my usual lip balm.  All of these products I have mentioned above is non-sticky and it is for all skin type.

Vichy's Capital Soleil Mexoryl XL Bare Skin Feel lotion SPF 45 (150ml, $29.95), SPF 60 (150ml, $29.95), and the NEW! lip protection stick SPF 30 (4.7ml, $13) are hypoallergenic, water-resistant, non-comedogenic, fragrance-free formula, and paraben-free.  Available in your local drug stores that sells Vichy products.

Giveaway!!

One of my readers will receive Vichy's newly launched Vichy's Capital Soleil Mexoryl XL Bare Skin Feel lotion SPF 45 and the lip protection stick SPF 30.

Great Summer Care Products from Vichy ~ #Review

It is starting to get hot and sunny and most likely everyone is shopping for sunscreen.  Whether it is for going to the beach or off to a romantic dream vacation we need to remember to protect our skin.

If you are like me, you and hate putting sunscreen on your face because you find it thick and heavy.  Depending on the sunscreen it makes my face all oily and eventually breakout.  Then I discovered Capital Soleil Ultra Fluid Lotion SPF 30 - one of the best sunscreens I could actually use on my face.  It is very runny so first shake the bottle well to mix the ingredients and then apply.  It absorbs super fast, no scent, no white streak marks, and it is non greasy.  It feels like I am not even wearing any sunscreen on my face.  It is so easy to wear underneath my makeup.  There is no excuse for not putting sunscreen on your face.  We want to stay looking 10 years younger - don't we?

Vichy's NEW! Aqualia Thermal: Night Spa ~ #Review

Once again Vichy has launched another great product.   Vichy's NEW! Aqualia Thermal: Night Spa (75ml, C$44) is a must try if suffering from dry skin.  I cannot believe how much I love this product.  Then again all the Vichy products I have tried are great anyways... right?  When I first saw this instore, I thought this is very interesting to test out.  I would love to have a night spa since I couldnt have a day spa.  I am just too busy.

On another note this product is saving my sore nose.  I have been fight this cold for the past week and I have gone through a whole box of tissues or more in just a few days.  Currently my nose is raw, sore, and dry. Yeah, you know what I mean.  I have been applying this on my nose and I could feel it being alot better.

Aqualia Thermal: Night Spa was inspired by a growing trend in Asia.  Yup, another Asian trend coming to Canada.  Its interesting to find out there is a whole different beauty regime in Asia that is coming to Canada.

This product can be used in two ways.  I could use it as a sleeping mask where I apply a thick layer for 10-15 mins and then wipe off the excess or apply a thin layer just like a night cream.

I have learned that my face is not dry and oily but dehydrated and oily.  Once the cream touched my skin I could feel instantly my skin soft and relaxed since it was so tight and dry.  I'm always looking for a product for my problem and I may have found it.  I enjoyed using it as a night cream.  The texture of the product is very like a gel cream instead of the usual thick night cream.  After I slept in it, I assumed my face would be greasy in the morning which it wasn't which created a whole new love for this product.  After a washed it off it left my face all refreshed and smooth.  I absoultly love (2x) this product.

Statistics after testing 50 women for 4 weeks
84% less signs of fatigue
82% more radiant skin
96% deep hydration and plumpness
84% Intense comfort

Vichy's NEW! Aqualia Thermal: Night Spa is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, paraben-free, and tested under dermatological control and on Asian sensitive skin.  Available in your local drug stores in May 2013 that sells Vichy products.

My Happy Ending ~ #Life

There is not a lot of happy stories around the media but I have a little one I would like to share with you.  If any of you recall I used to subscribe to a beauty box subscription called "Glymm" which when I first signed up, it was one of my favourite boxes to receive in the mail.  They had introduced great products and points to shop in their store.  After my first year was up, I signed up for another year (even though their service was declining) since I couldn't resist the allure of their delivery - it was like Christmas morning every 30 days.

5 months into my 2nd year, there was an issue involving them not responding to their phone services and emails. Then suddenly they totally shut down (Facebook, Twitter, website, etc...)   All we received was a good bye email and that was the end of their story.

So I immediately contacted Visa (Thank God for Visa) and told them the scenario.  After completing all the required paper works for Visa, and after a month of waiting, I received back a portion of my money which I have calculated I should get back in return.  So, after the panic attack I am glad there is a happy ending to my horror story.

So the moral of my story, is try to stay away from long term, prepaid subscriptions, if possible, and contact Visa immediately if you paid by Visa.

I wish everyone all the best trying to get their money back.

Rockin' Green: Shake it Up! ~ #Review & #Giveaway

I have been using cloth diapers for over a year.  At first I thought it was difficult but after I have gotten the routine it is pretty simple.  One of the drawbacks of using cloth diapers is the smell between washes.  I had tried a few solutions like purchasing odor eliminator disks, air fresheners spray and they don't want to work.

Through my extensive research before cloth diapering, I had heard of Rockin' Green to be the holy grail when using cloth diapers.  (There is a reason why they have won many awards.)  They have all sorts of soaps to use for different reasons like if you have soft water or hard water or ammonia issues that is hard to get rid of.

I received a package of "Shake it up: Lavender Mint" (8oz, U$6.50) that could be used as pail freshener or you can sprinkle near the kitty litter tray to eliminate those unwanted smells.  I think there is more than one way to use this product.  Someone has commented before where a previous customer has put some in an old sock and tied it up, and put it in their clothes drawer or hockey equipment bag.  Another idea is to sprinkle it  at the bottom of your garbage pail or in your regular laundry hamper because diapers are not the only thing that could stink up the house.

I also receive a few samples of the Classic Rock in Lavender Mint Revival, Smashing Watermelon, Bare Naked Babies to wash the diapers.  I can see why most diapering parents uses this detergent.  It is one of the best ones I have used so far and I have used a few brands over the months.  The diapers come out not only fresh and clean but also soft and I didn't even add any fabric softener (which I don't anyways for her diapers).  If it did a fantastic job on my dirty diapers you can image what it could do for your clothes.  This is a great product and I could see why.

Rockin' Green would like to offer one of my US readers their own full size Shake it Up, pail fresher to try it at home.

This contest will run from June 12th to July 4th, 2013 (midnight EST).  Winner, You have 72 hours to reply.  You must be 18+ US Only.  (So, so sorry, my Canadian followers.)  Good Luck!

Splat: Hair Chalk ~ #Review & #Giveaway

Splat recently launch their hair chalk, temporary pastel hair colour highlights to wear for the day.  When I saw this at Shoppers Drug Mart I wanted to try it out.  It looks hip and fun to do, especially it is only temporary.  I am the type of person who loves to put all sorts of colour in her hair for fun.  My daughter is following in my foot steps and when she saw this, she also wanted me to put it on her hair.

It comes in five different pastel colours:
Purple - Violet Sky
Light Blue - Silver Moon
Pink - Dusty Rose
Green - Mint Candy
Blue - Midnight Blue

This hair chalk was so much fun to do on my daughter's hair.  It was so easy to apply on her dry hair and I didn't need to wet it.

It is small and compact so it was easy to put between my thumb and pointer finger.  The more I applied the more vibrant the colour becomes on her hair.  It is also perfect to be taken anywhere with you whenever you have the urge to add some colour on your hair.

After it was applied, I put on some hair spray so it won't flake away.  It said it will lasts for 24 hours but I don't know if I need it for that long.  After a few hours, the colour was still as vibrant as when I first put it on.  It was super easy to wash it off.  Just use regular shampoo and off it came, easy peasy.  Don't need to soak it or use a special shampoo.  However, for bleached hair, it might take a few washes so read the directions and instructions.  After I applied it on my daughter she was so ecstatic that she rushed to the mirror and started admiring herself.

When applying, it could get a little messy.  It was all over my thumbs when I was done.  Rest assure it washed off without any problem.  Don't forget to protect your clothes.  It might stain them so put a towel around you when applying it.

The hair chalk also comes with a sponge to help to apply the chalk closer to the hair line and on braided hair since it would be hard to apply to run it through your fingers.

Check out Splat pinterest board for amazing ideas.

Splat NEW! highlighting pastel-coloured hair chalk (3.5g, SRP C$8.99) is available at London Drug, selected Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, Pharmasave and Lawtons Drugs, as well as independent drug stores, and farleyco.ca.

Guess what!!  Farleyco.ca would like to offer one of my readers to win their own Splat pastel-coloured hair chalk. (One winner gets to choose two (2) colours of their choice.)

Yves Rocher: Tahitian Monoi Collection ~ #Review

"Me mind on fire...Me soul on fire...Feeling hot, hot, hot
Party people - All around me feeling hot, hot, hot."
Yes, summer is here and today is hot, hot, hot...more like boiling hot....
Summer season is approaching, it is time for new sweet scents.
Let me introduce you to Yves Rocher's Monoi de Tahiti collection.

Raise your hands if you have heard of Tahitian Monoi...OK, for those who do not know, let me give you some background.  Monoi means "scented oil" in Polynesian.  Monoi is obtained by mecerating 100 fresh demanding Tiare flowers in 1L of coconut oil.  For 10+ years, Yves Rocher has the privilege to use Tahitian Monoi that is AOC certified.

I had the opportunity to try a few products in this collection.

Traditional Gardenia Oil - Precious Dry Oil - Perfumed Body Mist

Traditional Tiare Oil (100ml, $18, Sale $9) has a wonderful light scent.  It really does remind me of fresh cut sweet flowers.  This is a multi-purpose oil that is great from head to toe.  I could apply it on my body where I can protect my skin from dryness and leaves it hydrated.  I could use it as a treatment before shampooing leaving my hair silky smooth.  I love how it absorbs very quickly and making my hands non greasy.

Precious Dry Oil (100 ml, $22, sale $13) is must needed for this summer.  I love how the dry oil feels on my skin leaving the shimmer to illuminate me from head to toe.  The texture is very much like the Traditional Tiare Oil where it has a great scent and how the oil absorbs very quickly and making my hands non greasy.

Lagoon Moiturizing Perfumed Body Mist ($125ml, $16, sale $9) also has a wonderful light sweet scent that reminds me of vanilla.  It contains organic aloe vera so it will moisturize the body when you spray it on your body.  I think this is a fun scent for this summer.  I could wear this at a beach party sipping cocktails or just lounging around by the pool.

These products are available in all Yves Rocher stores, online, or by catalogue at 1-800-361-2746.

Don't forget to follow them on Facebook and Pinterest page.

Hush Puppies: Spring 2013 Edition ~ #Review

Check out my new foot wear!  Very cute, fun, and chic.  They were perfect as my every day shoes.

Ceil Slip on_Mt: Raspberry Nubuck C$100
When they arrived I wore them to work.  It was the same colour top I was wearing that day and my co-worker commented how much my outfit matched that day and she loved the colour.  I have always loved wearing Hush Puppies brand shoes because they usually are so comfortable on my feet as if they are made for me.

Hush Puppies' Ceil Slip on_Mt shoes comes in 12 different shades and perfect for this Spring season.  It is a mosccasin inspired slips on a 1/2 inch heal so it is made for women like me always on the go, go, go.  When my 6 years old daughter saw these shoes, she said she wanted her own just like mine.  Fortunately, she is still too young for us to share shoes or she would have taken them from me.

Check out the other foot wear in their Spring collection which I also love to have.  If you love 1960s (Mad Men era) style, you would love the Sanguin Sling_XB (C$120).  This sandal comes in a 2 inch heel should be perfect with any summer time dress.  (Added to as my wish list.)

Check them out and stroll through their latest arrivals.  Like me, you might notice something you are dying to have.  (Psst...check out the Chaste Ballet shoes and the Laze T-Strap shoes, Nice?  I love, love them...)

Subway Restaurant: Avocado & Spinach, Please and Thank you ~ #Review

Attending the Subway Restaurant's event was the most fun I had in weeks.  I got to make my own Subway sandwich...who knew.  When I was invited I wasn't sure what to expect.  It turns out we each took turns making our own sandwich.  We were our own chef (with the help of Chef Carl Savard) and were given the opportunity to create a masterpiece.

The big announcement they made was that they were going to include two new toppings to add to your sandwiches and salads - avocado and spinach (for a limited time).  Yes, you heard me.  I did say avocado.  I love to add avocado onto my own sandwiches, who does not.  If you have not...you have to try it.  It brings your sandwich or sub to a whole new level.

By adding avocado and spinach to the mix, Subway Restaurant is helping to provide Canadians with healthier menu options.  Subway will be introducing the Turkey & Bacon with Avocado in their sandwich menu.  Yup, you heard the word bacon, its not a typo.  I could give you the run down of the nutritious value of what avocado and spinach have to offer, but I rather let you know...its yummy, its healthy, its time to dig in.

A interesting stats I learned while I was there was the #1 most popular Subway sub (across Canada) is the Cold Cuts and the #2 sub is the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki.  Yup, Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki is what I always order.

Subway Restaurants of Canada has over 3,000 locations so choose one (or a few, your choice) and don't hesitate to try it out.

My own sub creation ingredients:
Chicken pieces, Bacon strips (yup), cheese, spinach, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, avocado, few pickles, and sweet onion sauce to top it all off.   The easy part was creating the sandwich and the hardest part was naming it...I named it "Dreaming of Bacon"...yeah, maybe it was little cheesy but it was sooo good.

This event brought me an idea.  All you can eat, make your own sandwiches...good idea or what.
Now let's eat!

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator ~ #Review

You can say I am a very stressful person with too many things I juggle each day.  It is not easy trying to do everything (work, raising kids, and other obligations) on my own.  On top of it all, I live in a sandwich generation where I have duties to both my mom and to my kids.  Like many of you, I have alot on my plate and most of the time it is not easy to get the help you need.  Even stress is apart of my life I cannot get rid of it easily.  I remember I was at my doctor's and complained about my constant back pain, he told me to quit my job.  What a laugh.  "Stress" is known to be my middle name.

I have learned some techniques over the years to try to reduce my stress like going for a run, attend yoga classes, read a good book, or watch a marathon of anime shows - anything to keep my mind off the problems and duties temporary.  Stress may be apart of me, I don't want myself look like I'm a walking dead.  It think I have found the perfection solution to my tired out skin problem.

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator proclaims their "clinical tests showed improvement at one week, but the clinical improvement shown at four weeks demonstrated the Skin Rescuer formula effectively minimized the appearance of dehydration, redness, blotchiness and skin fatigue."  Many women who tested this product in 4 weeks believes their skin felt soothed, comforted, revitalized/replenished, and help skin feel less susceptible to stress.

This cream is thicker than I use during the day so I have been using it only as a night cream.  It instantly hydrates my face once I put it on.  It absorbs quickly and it barely has a scent but once you rub it into your skin the scent disappears.  It feels like it "plumped" up my skin making it feel more awake then the usual tired and sickly looking.  Its is hard to tell if it reduced my redness on my face.  Its possible I might see it after a few more weeks using the product.

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator ($42, 75ml) are available at all Kiehl store locations and online.
