The Body Shop ~ Review

Sorry, its been awhile since my last post.
I was so busy with work and kids.
Then I was having some technically difficulties with my computer.
After some CPR and swearing, it turns out my harddrive is dead.
Replaced the harddrive - at least I didn't have to purchase a new laptop...
There is so much programs that needs to be installed but at least I have the basics up and running.

A few weeks ago, I did a quick stop over to The Body Shop's grand opening.

I wasn't able to get a free mini makeover because I couldn't get a spot in time.
However, I bought the mini Shea Body Butter for $1 and Mango scented Hand Cleanser Gel for $2
On top of that I use my Body Shop Membership card to receive 10% off!!
What a bargain, eh.
Years ago I had tried their Shea Body Butter and I didn't like it too much.
They must have changed their formula because I love it!
It smells wonderful, leaves my hand soft, absorbs quickly, and non greasy.
Pretty good dont you think?

The gel sanitizer is just another gel sanitizer...
They are all pretty much the same thing.
Do I need to comment any further?

Vasanti: BrightenUp! ~ Review

If you have not tried Vasanti's BrightenUp! - you have to.  It will make you into a believer.

Three reasons why you should try it

• I have read a few great reviews from other bloggers.
• The SA at Shoppers Drug Mart raved about it.
• I love how my face feels smooth after using it.

When it was time to redeem my Shoppers Drug Mart points, this was one of the first item that went into my basket.

It has papaya enzymes to breakdown dead skin cells and "magic" microderm crystals to exfoliate your skin.  Its not "magic" but it does wonders to your skin.
It feels like gentle white sand beach rubbing on your skin.
If you dont believe me, go and try it yourself.

However, you have to be careful, not getting them into your mouth when using it.  Once in a while, after washing my face, it feels like I got sand  in my mouth - Yuck.

Who's Gaga for Lady Gaga's Fame perfume ~ Review

Have you tried Lady Gaga's Fame perfume?
Her perfume was launched in America & UK last month, launching world wide this month.

She wanted her perfume to smell like "blood and semen."  (She said it, I didnt)
As I continue to quote "the perfume is based on the molecular structure of the two substance, it would not smell of them" (Wikipedia)
Phew!  I dont want someone sitting next to me on the subway thinks I hurt my lover or something...Hahahaha
Then she describes that the perfume smells like an "expensive hooker".
She cracks me up.  I dont think I want every person out there thinks I am a hooker...Hahahaha

The black perfume is in an egg shaped bottle that once it is sprayed it will become clear. How cool is that?
I just want one just because it could do that regardless if I like the smell or not.

In my opinion, the perfume has a mixture of fruity and vanilla smell...I love it.  A lot better than Madonna's Truth and Dare perfume.

I don't care if I received this before.  I absolutely love this product!  Just ran out of my little samples that I even purchased the full size bottle.  When I purchased this at Shoppers Drug Mart, the SA raved about it.  She said it is one of the best cleanser she has.  I agree!  I kinda knew I will be receiving this because over on Vasanti's Facebook page they mentioned they were getting ready to supply a batch of their Brighten UP! to a beauty sample box.

Redemption Day at Shoppers

This past weekend was "Spend Your Points Event!" where I could get up to $220 off.  That is an additional $50 instead of the usual $30.
As you can see I was able to purchase quite a few things including the arrowroot cookies that I forgot to add in the photo.
Majority of the products were on sale and I even has $10 worth of coupons I used toward this purchase.
In the end I went over by $5.97 and I had to pay the taxes.
I am abit proud of myself since this is the first time I have redeemed my points after collecting them for 15+ years.

Since I spent over $30 on Biotherm I received a gift with purchase.

Because I purchased so much cosmetics I received their 50th birthday gift box with samples and a few coupons. (Another post tomorrow to show you what is in the box.)

Big Batch of Empties!

It feels good to finally finish some stuff - especially the ones that have been sitting around too long.

1. Ojon Shampoo & Conditioner (Travel Size)
These were from my ebeauty birthday bag.  It was my first time using Ojon.  I wont be purchasing the full size.  Its Ok...I had better.

2. Ole Henriksen - African Red Tea facial cleanser.  This is the travel size and I do have the full size bottle.  I like it.  I believe you can only purchase this at Sephora.

3. Bath & Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar.  Finally finished this body butter.  I think I have 4-5 more bottles/jars to go through.  I cant wait to finish them all.

4. Wella Brilliance Conditioner.  Received this in my April 2012 Glossybox.  It was OK.  Just a regular conditioner.

5. Nu.Me HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner.  Received this in my May 2012 Glymm bag.  This made my hair soft.  However, I am not interesting in purchasing from it online.  If I see it at Winners I will consider it.  I dont like paying for shipping.


6. Vichy ProEven.  I wish I could like this product.  After using for two months, it didnt do anything to my dark spots.  I will look at other products.

7. WEN (not shown) received one sample from my local Sephora.  It is too pricey since I have long hair and a small bottle cost a fortune.

8. Clean & Clear Body Wash.  Just a plain body wash.  Nothing special.  Will stick with my Dove body washes.

9. LaCoupe: Orgnx, RedKen: Colour Extend, and Garnier Fructis: Colour Shield samples
The one I really like is Orgnx.  Waiting to finish up my current shampoo so I could purchase the bottle.

Overall reaction - It is an improvement from the last box I received back in May.  I have already have a mini size Hope in a Jar moisturizer but I do like it.  Oh boy, another mascara I still have too many to go through.   However, I have heard Lancome makes the best mascara.  I dont know why, but I've received a Moroccanoil hairspray in my December Luxebox - bummer.

Korres: Wild Rose Brightening Skincare ~ #Review

This is sold at selected Shoppers Drug Mart or in all Sephora's for C$49.
I purchased this last month at Shoppers during the 20x times the points.

This kit contains:
0.68 oz White Tea Cleanser
2 x 0.68 oz Wild Rose Cream
0.68 oz Wild Rose Serum
0.34 oz Evening Primrose Eye Cream

I really like the White Tea Cleanser.  It is very mild and gentle on my face.  I know I will be repurchase this cleanser in the future.  However, I am disappointed in the rest of the kit.  I have been using this kit for over a month and I have not seen any change on my dark spots.  *Sigh* I had high hopes for this brand since it is not a drug store brand.  I have about another month's worth of the product so I will finish it up and hopefully I will see some improvements by then.

Coppertone Kids Sunscreen ~ #Review

I bought this when it was on sale at Costco.
For 3 bottles it was on sale for C$14.99, Regular is C$19.99
It is a continuous spray.
It sprays everywhere.
It is very messy and half the time it is not spraying on the body itself.   Very wasteful.
My daughter hates it.
In two weeks I have finished a can of it.
Would I purchase it again?  No.  The lotions will last a lot longer than this one.

Blistex: Revive & Restore Lip Balm ~ Review

Here is my latest lip balm purchase to feed my other addiction.
I picked this up at Rexall (Pharma Plus) but I have also seen this at Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Regular price is approx $4+ but I saw this on sale for $2.79.
I didnt just bought one, I bought two!
The Revive is has a hint of mint and the Restore is alot smoother and creamer of the two.
I love this new lip balm.
It contains shea butter and SPF 15.
The jars also clicks together so they wont stray apart from each other.
I cant wait for it to go on sale again so I could stock up.

Vasanti Ultra Luxe Lipstick: Zimbabwe ~ #Review

The prize was a choice of a lipstick or a lip gloss.
It was a tough decision - 21 different colour to choose from and I could only pick one.
The computer screen does not give a clear picture of the colour so I read the description carefully.
I settled for Zimbabwe - a deep burgundy wine.
I love it.  It has a sweet berries smell.
It makes my lip stand out.
I love the dark and bold colour - perfect for the fall season.
It claims that it plumps, hydrates, and smooth with the latest in peptide technology.
I never noticed my lips plump but it does hydrates and smooths them.
